    The ideal candidate is strategic, creative, driven, and able to dream big! WDSRA’s next Development Manager possesses the ability to engage the local community, effectively tell impactful stories, and identify potential supporters while delighting current supporters. Understanding the importance of the relationship between Communications and Development is critical. Equally important is the ability to manage relationships with financial partners both internally and externally. Experience with grant management including writing proposals and all necessary follow-up along with Donor Perfect and GrantHub experience are pluses. This rewarding position will make a difference in the lives of others immediately.

    STARTING SALARY RANGE:   $60,000-$70,000 PER YEAR

    HOURS/SCHEDULE: Full-Time Exempt Position, 40-HOURS PER WEEK, M-F

    ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES and FUNCTIONS to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:

    ·        Communicate with the Superintendent of Communications and Development on issues and activities related to fundraising assuring effective operations of the agency.

    ·        Strengthen existing relationships while developing new donor relationships.

    ·        Identify and solicit donors for support of fund-raising initiatives.

    ·        Collaborate on marketing and communications initiatives pertaining to development.

    ·        Manage WDSRA Foundation fundraising events (signature event, golf, third-party events).

    ·        Lead committees (internal and external) for fundraising events.

    ·        Analyze market trends and conditions while enhancing overall fund-raising initiatives.

    ·        Manage service club relationships (i.e.: Kiwanis, KOC, Rotary).

    ·        Prepare reports as deemed necessary by leadership.

    ·        Create and deliver presentations along with being the liaison for service clubs.  

    ·        Perform other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    ·        Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; major in fund development, communications, or related field

    ·        Experience with databases a plus, specifically Donor Perfect

    ·        Comfortable speaking to large groups

    ·        Collaborative spirit

    ·        Supervisory experience is a plus related to working with volunteers.

    ·        Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent telephone and customer service skills

    ·        Positive attitude, relationship-building skills, high level of motivation and a strong, responsible work ethic.

    ·        Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to details, efficiently manage several work assignments and tasks simultaneously, and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
