    King-Bruwaert House, a non-profit 501c3 continuous care retirement community in Burr Ridge, seeks a part-time Director of Development who will be responsible for

    organizational philanthropy and overseeing donor relationships among identified constituencies. The Director of Development will report directly to the Assistant Administrator and will be responsible for coordinating and managing assigned fund-raising campaigns, as well as cultivating and soliciting new or potential sources of funding from individuals, foundations and corporations. In addition, the Director will:

    Provide leadership in all areas of development and work to expand the number of people committed to and engaged in the King-Bruwaert mission.

    Develop - expand donor base by identifying contributors through review of past records and prospecting new contacts through community recommendations and contacts.

    Collaborate and take specific direction or gather information from: K-B CEO, Assistant Administrator, K-B Board of Directors and Chairman of the Board, Director of Marketing, Director of Admissions and other members of the K-B leadership team as necessary.

    Design, implement and maintain an Annual Fund campaign and Planned Giving program by encouraging individuals to make short- and long-term gifts through annual donations, trusts, bequests and other instruments, conferring with legal counsel to establish wealth or gift transfers that are mutually beneficial for donors and our non-profit organization.

    Recognize and maintain relationships with donors by establishing personal relationships with key donors and developing/overseeing donor recognition programs through newsletter reporting, plaque identification and hosting of the semi-annual Legacy & Leaders dinner.

    Required experience:  The ideal candidate will have:

    ·         A bachelor’s degree and no less than five years of professional development, management and planning experience – with an emphasis on major gifts, Planned Gifts, foundations, Annual Funds and Capital campaigns.

    ·         Demonstrated success in designing and implementing strategies to reach new donor audiences and increasing donor commitment, involvement and support.

    ·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse set of audience; public speaking and presentation skills.

    • ·         Creative, self-starter with interest in older adults and the ability to think outside-the-box to connect with educated, elderly clientele.
