    To manage the Food Bank’s special events, promotion and peer to peer program to raise funds from corporations in support of the Food Bank’s strategic plan.  Develop a comprehensive annual plan to identify, engage, solicit and steward corporate partners.  Manage a portfolio of 50+ corporate donors and prospects. Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Food Banks’ special events, third-party promotions and peer to peer campaigns. Responsible for setting revenue and expense budgets for events and promotions and tracking progress against those goals.

    • ·         Develop strategy and annual goals for special event and promotion fundraising including setting revenue and expense budget
    • ·         Develop strategy, annual goals and measure success for peer to peer fundraising program
    • ·         Actively manage a portfolio of current and potential corporate donors
    • ·         Collaborating with philanthropy team identify and recruit committee members for special events and develop annual communication and engagement strategy for each committee
    • ·         Through research and best practices, identify, cultivate and solicit new corporate prospects for sponsorship, promotions or peer to peer fundraising
    • ·         Manage relationships with key promotions and cause marketing campaigns including through Feeding America and inform team about activation details
    • ·         Serve as lead for Easy Eats offsite volunteer packing program, including fielding new requests, managing donor relationship, executing volunteer event and tracking results.
    • ·         Collaborate with Marketing Communications team on advertising and marketing plans for special events and large third-party promotions
    • ·         Prepare proposals, solicitation letters and stewardship reports
    • ·         Visit companies to make presentations on the Food Bank and how companies and their employees can get involved

    Supervisory Responsibility
    This position manages Development Officer, Peer to Peer and Cause Marketing and Special Events Coordinator and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of those employees.

    Work Environment
    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
    This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. but occasionally weekends and evenings will be required. A minimum of 40 hours a week is required to maintain full time status.

    Position Location
    This position is based out of our Geneva location.

    This position may travel within our 13 county service area to meet with donors, visit our other Centers, make presentations or attend events, estimated up to 20% of time.

    Required Education and Experience

    1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in sales, marketing or fundraising.
    2. 3-5 years fundraising experience including direct solicitations and event fundraising
    3. 1-3 years of supervisory experience
    4. Experience developing and managing large scale fundraising events ($200k+) including sponsorship, auction and logistics
    5. Evidence success of strategic thinking and future planning
    6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    7. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    8. Proficient with Microsoft Office products
    • 9.    Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of completing assignments.
    • 10. Comfortable speaking in front of large groups and representing Northern Illinois Food Bank as a polished spokesperson
    • 11. Organized in planning work tasks and priorities, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
    • 12. Commitment to understanding and supporting the Food Bank’s mission.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    1. Experience in a fast-paced environment.
    • 2.    Experience using Raisers Edge (or similar donor database) and online fundraising tools such as QGiv, OneCause and Luminate
    • 3.    Self-starter, energetic and eager to build major donor relationships
