    Development Director (part-time)

    Neighborhood Food Pantries is a mission-centered non-profit operating 6 food pantries in DuPage County and providing over 2 million meals per year to our neighbors in need. The Development Director plans and implements our fundraising programs and promotes the NFP mission in the community.

    Status

    Part time—20-25 hours/ week

    Reports to

    Executive Director

    Compensation

    $25-$35 per hour. Commensurate with experience

    Skills and Experience

    Responsiveness to needs of others for information. Prior experience working with volunteers. Ability to communicate effectively across multiple constituent groups. The ideal candidate is a hands-on fundraising generalist with extensive experience in annual giving from individuals and local business including event sponsorships, mail appeals, peer-to-peer solicitation, and fundraising through social media. Excellent writing skills. Familiarity with Donor Perfect database is a plus.

    Duties

    ·         Manage a diverse portfolio of donors including individuals, business, community leaders using face-to-face solicitation, phone calls and written proposals.

    • Provide guidance and support to the NFP Individual Donor Committee.
    • Plan and implement multi-faceted annual fundraising activity to raise $650,000+ in revenue.
    • Practice excellent stewardship for donor retention and increased contribution.
    • Participate in the identification, application and reporting of foundation and business grant opportunities.
    • Leverage Executive Director and Board Members involvement when needed to maximize donor giving.
    • Develop and support special event committees for HarvestFest and Shopping Cart Shuffle, and oversee event volunteers.
    • Develop and maintain a fundraising dashboard to monitor progress.
    • Attend Board meetings and committee meetings.
    • Participate in the development of the annual budget.
    • Develop marketing material to promote NFP services and special events.

    Expectations

    The Development Director will work remotely and in the field networking with prospects, donors and volunteers on a flexible schedule. Works closely with the Executive Director to develop annual fundraising plan. Familiarity with the philanthropic landscape in DuPage County is a plus. Functions as part of a team to advance the mission of Neighborhood Food Pantries:
