The Morton Arboretum
Classification: Full-time, Exempt
General Summary: Lead and work collaboratively across the institution to write effective proposals and reports to maximize funding opportunities from corporate, foundation and government funders. Manage a portfolio of corporate, foundation and government donors and prospects, qualify funders and cultivate new gifts, and contribute to overall institutional giving goals. Lead the grant guidelines process across the entire organization to ensure successful and timely grant submissions. Responsible for writing entire proposals and reports for senior leadership and program staff demonstrating the impact of the Arboretum through the complexity of the science, conservation, and education work of the institution.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. 5+ years of demonstrated successful grant writing, sponsorship, or similar experience with a non-profit organization required. Strong research, writing and editing, and verbal communication skills required. Experience using database systems, with prior experience using Raiser’s Edge software preferred. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and experience with Google applications beneficial. Must possess a valid driver’s license, which is subject to insurability and an annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.

● Work Environment: Fast-paced office environment. Work is primarily performed indoors with occasional outdoors activity.
