    Neighborhood Food Pantries Volunteer Position

    Job Description – Treasurer and Board Member


    ·         Prepare all monthly financial statements and reports for NFP.
    ·         Oversee annual outside audit and review of annual Federal Form 990 filing and Illinois Form AG990-Il equivalent.
    ·         Oversee preparation of NFP annual budget.
    ·         Oversee the maintenance of the accounting system general ledger.
    ·          Oversee the payroll functions including calculation of employee withholding, preparation of payroll tax returns and annual compliance filings.
    ·         Serve on Administrative Committee that helps develop and implement strategy for NFP and encourages synergy between various committees and the Board.
    ·         Serve on Board of Directors, including attending and participating in board meetings and supporting NFP at outside events and financially.

    Preferred Attributes and Background that Candidates will bring to Treasurer Role

    • Experience as a treasurer or auditor for a church, a not-for-profit or other small business or community group.
    • Knowledge of accounting principles and general knowledge of accounting regulations.
    • Ability to be passionate about NFP and its mission to mitigate hunger in DuPage County.
