    The Director of CARES Programs is primarily responsible for the day to day management of the Loaves & Fishes CARES Programs which are the non-food, support programs offered by the agency. This individual is responsible for administering all the activities necessary to operate and evaluate the Loaves & Fishes CARES Programs consistent with the organization’s mission, strategic plan, policies, goal achievements and budgetary allocations. The Director reports to the VP CARES Programs.


    Responsibilities

    • Manage the emergency assistance and car donation program budgets and the discernment process of client assistance.
    • Act as a liaison with all agencies and congregations that collaborate with Loaves & Fishes to provide emergency financial assistance and develop new partnerships when appropriate.
    • Manage other CARES programs as determined by VP CARES programs.
    • Work with Loaves & Fishes staff to recruit, train, and schedule all L&F CARES Program volunteers.
    • Provide daily continuity in the office and manage program volunteers to streamline client assistance, share resource information with volunteers and help to manage client requests.
    • Manage the input of client data into client database to ensure accurate and secure reporting.
    • Work with staff to:
    • Develop all program outcome measurements
    • Manage outreach to all community partners in partnership with Advancement Team    and other program staff.
    • Develop, implement and modify CARES programs based on the need in the community and aligned with the Loaves & Fishes strategic plan.
    • Work directly with all program participants to provide resources and meet their emergency assistance requests.
    • Represent and promote the mission of Loaves & Fishes and its programs in accordance with the agency’s strategic and communication plans by engaging with community committees and agencies.
    • Work closely with VP CARES Programs to develop, implement and manage programs consistent with the Loaves & Fishes strategic plan
    • Work with program team to ensure accuracy, security and support of client database.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 3 years of client engagement in social services setting
    • Ability to communicate with different client constituencies
    • Experience using technology in social service setting
    • Problem solving skills, flexibility
    • Leadership and delegation skills
    • Insured driver with valid IL license and available vehicle
    • Physical maneuvering including lifting of up to 20 lbs. as is often required in team environment of Loaves & Fishes     

    Salary commensurate with education and experience
