As our organization enters an exciting stage of growth and impact, we are seeking a Part-Time Development and Fundraising Officer to help expand our programs and deepen donor engagement. This strategic new role will support fundraising initiatives, enhance our CRM effectiveness, and strengthen our grant pipeline—ultimately increasing the sustainability and impact of our mission.

Position
IOC is seeking a Part-Time Development & Fundraising Officer to work 10–20 hours per week to support and grow IOC’s fundraising operations. In this independent contractor role, you will:
- Drive fundraising growth by identifying, cultivating, and stewarding individual and corporate donors.
- Maximize use of our CRM (Virtuous) to improve donor engagement, retention, and conversion.
- Support grant efforts through prospecting, proposal writing, and reporting.
- Partner closely with the Executive Director to build fundraising infrastructure and free up leadership to focus on program expansion and strategic relationships.
IOC will provide tools, data access, and background information to help you be successful in your work.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an organized, self-starting development professional who:
- Has experience in nonprofit fundraising, including donor stewardship and/or grant writing.
- Is confident using CRM systems (preferably Virtuous or similar).
- Brings strong communication and writing skills.
- Is passionate about social impact and youth development.
- Has a collaborative spirit and is excited to build systems for long-term growth.
Schedule
- 10–20 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
- Remote-friendly; in-person meetings with donors and the team are required.
- Position begins as soon as the ideal candidate is identified.
Compensation & Benefits
- $40–$50 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Contractor will also be reimbursed for client meetings and travel.
- As an independent contractor, no benefits are provided, and contractor must provide their own computer.
Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Relations
- Proactively identify and qualify new donor prospects—individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.
- Deepen relationships with current donors through personalized stewardship and communication.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director on outreach and donor meetings.
- Monitor and report on key fundraising metrics to inform strategy and engagement.
CRM Optimization
- Maintain clean, accurate donor records and leverage CRM tools to enhance engagement.
- Segment donor lists to support targeted, meaningful communications.
- Analyze donor data to identify trends and flag new families or prospects for outreach.
Grant Support
- Research new grant opportunities and deadlines.
- Assist in drafting grant proposals and reports.
- Ensure timely submissions and compliance with reporting requirements.
Collaboration & Strategy
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Director to align development efforts with organizational growth goals.
- Contribute data, insights, and recommendations to support board development and fundraising strategy.
Goal
Generate $75,000 - 125,000 annually (depending on hours worked per week) in new funds by the end of year three. Progress will be tracked through shared objectives and regular check-ins with leadership.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or grant writing
- Familiarity with nonprofit CRM systems (Virtuous or similar)
- Exceptional writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Self-directed, reliable, and proactive in managing responsibilities
- Passionate about youth development, education, and character-building
- Comfortable with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office tools
