    Position:  Director of Donor Services and Strategic Partnerships

    Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley

    Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt 

    Reports To: President & CEO

    Summary: Work with the Community Foundation staff, Board, Fund Advisors, and other constituents to successfully implement the development plan of the Foundation that is focused on growing the Foundation’s assets, raising its profile throughout the community, and successfully implementing the Foundation’s strategic plan.

    Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following in addition to other duties as assigned by the President & CEO. 

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Identify new donors and intermediaries to secure outright and/or planned gifts to the Foundation.

    • Develop new relationships with individuals and groups throughout the service area of the Foundation, including individuals and groups that are underrepresented within our donor base.
    • Work with Foundation staff to research and manage prospects for relationships with the Foundation.
    • Serve as a liaison with professional advisors (attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, and other intermediaries and agents of wealth).
    • Host events for professional advisors, including continuing education events.
    • Host donor prospect events outlining services available at the Foundation including fund development, donations to existing funds, legacy giving, and membership.

    Steward and Cultivate Current Donors

    • Develop and coordinate a stewardship plan that fosters relationships with current donors to the Foundation.
    • Host fund advisor educational informational series and social events.
    • Provide opportunities for donors to give feedback on the Foundation’s services.
    • Identify opportunities to recognize donors for their commitment to the Foundation. 
    • Plan activities for various groups within the Foundation, including Legacy Society Members, Annual and Life Members, and Presidents Council.

    Communicate with stakeholders and the public about the services of the Foundation.

    • Work with the Foundation staff to plan and implement successful educational, engagement, and other activities for various constituents.
    • Work with the Foundation staff to develop materials that will market the services of the Foundation and demonstrate the benefits of philanthropy for current and prospective donors and the community at large.
    • Present information on fund development and benefits of the Community Foundation to local community networking and social groups, and one-on-one meetings in person or by video or phone.
    • Represent the Foundation and discuss opportunities for collaboration and engagement with various stakeholders in the community.

    Administration:

    • Prepare information materials for various constituents on the services of the Foundation.
    • Maintain current records in the Foundation’s software on all prospects and donors.
    • Provide support to Foundation staff and Board as it relates to asset development opportunities.

    About Us 

    The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley is a collection of individual funds and resources given by local citizens to enhance and support the quality of life in the Fox River Valley. Foundation funds are used to provide grants to non-profit organizations and scholarships to area students.

    We are a tax-exempt public charity that allows individuals, businesses, and other non-profit organizations to establish a permanent endowment and temporary funds within the confines of one large foundation.

    The Community Foundation will celebrate its 75th Anniversary in 2023 and, since its founding in 1948, has grown to more than $129 million in assets and has provided more than $120 million in grants and scholarships back to the community. The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley currently serves the Greater Aurora Area, the TriCities, and Kendall County.

    Compensation & Benefits

    The Foundation provides a competitive compensation package consummate with experience and qualifications including vacation time, health, dental, and vision insurance, and a matching 403(b) deferred compensation package. 

    Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000

    Working Conditions

    This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

    Physical Requirements

    The employee must be able to sit and/or stand for up to eight (8) hours a day and exert up to twenty (20) pounds of force occasionally.

    The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.

    Requirements

      

    Qualifications

    1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in development and client relationship management in the nonprofit sector.
    2. Highly organized and creative, with extreme attention to detail.
    3. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to have customer service as the top priority.
    4. Proficient typing and computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and fundraising software. (Knowledge of Foundant Technologies software preferred.)
    5. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    6. Ability to adapt to the increasing demands of a growing organization.
    7. Ability to work in a high-paced, team environment, collaborating with and supporting other staff as needed.
    8. Willingness to work some evenings and weekends
    9. Experience working with clients on planned giving.
    10. Experience working with professional advisors
    11. Bachelor's Degree Required.

    Salary Description

    $60,000 - $70,000 per year
