    KEES has been exclusively retained by Educare West DuPage (Educare) in its search for a visionary and strategic Executive Director to lead the organization. Educare is national network of effective early childhood education schools with the mission that financially disadvantaged young children will have the best possible opportunity for success in life by entering kindergarten with the school readiness skills they need to succeed.  Educare West DuPage’s comprehensive program incorporates what science says young children need to flourish. It is the only Educare location nationwide to be located in a suburban community and serves as a model for suburban early learning centers and their role in addressing suburban poverty. Its dual-language program gives young children a solid foundation in English and Spanish.

    The Executive Director will provide leadership for funding efforts, program effectiveness, growth, and fiscal oversight.  The Executive Director will also serve as the public face and voice of Educare in the community and with key stakeholders. Leading a staff of over 75, with 4 direct reports, they will focus on strong communication, external collaboration, strategic planning and execution for the future of Educare and the families of West DuPage.  Additional information about the position can be found in the Opportunity Guide.

    Specific Requirements include:

    ·         A minimum of seven years of progressive experience in leadership and management, with documented ability to manage and retain staff and lead teams.

    ·         Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. Education, Child Development, Management, Nonprofit, etc.) required; Master’s degree highly preferred.

    ·         Strong experience working directly with an engaged Board of Directors. Ability to assist board members in understanding and appreciating their roles and responsibilities.

    ·         Proven ability to build strong external relationships with a variety of local leaders, school personnel, public leadership, and partner organizations.

    • Track record in creating and analyzing P&L statements, financial strategy and stewardship, as well as developing strategies to successfully increase revenue and diversify funding sources.
    • Strong analytic and strategic-thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to create, implement and monitor complex plans and translate those plans into goals and concrete strategies.
    • Career track record that shows stability with an organization and capacity to develop and nurture relationships culminating in overall success.
    • Knowledge of West DuPage area and the diverse aspects of the community.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required.
